The Insurance Survey

The insurance survey is performed for current owners, usually at the request of an insurance company for policy renewal or finance companies if refinancing.

This survey determines the apparent seaworthiness of the vessel and whether or not it remains a good insurable risk.

USCG, ABYC, and NFPA standards are all referenced.
